Our Staff

Jakeb Pennington

Jakeb Pennington is the owner of Legacy Land & Timber. Jake received an Associate’s Degree from Trinity Valley Community College before continuing his education at Stephen F. Austin State University where he studied Forestry & Wildlife Management. Seven years after starting a very successful civil construction company, Jake decided it was time to branch out into the forestry market. With a wealth of both business and industry knowledge, and an unmatched passion for conservation, Legacy Land & Timber began to take root.  Jake likes to spend his free time in the outdoors usually hunting, fishing, or team roping with his wife Amber, daughter Macy, and dog Avery.

Jacob Rustin 
Procurement Forester

Jake graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry& Wildlife Management. Shortly after graduation Jake went to work with Acorn Forestry overseeing mechanical site prep implementation and machine planting operations. After leaving Acorn, Jake took a job with Bird Forestry as a consultant, where he aided private landowners with the management of their forest resources. Armed with the knowledge and experience of working with private landowners, Jake is now the Timber Procurement Forester for Legacy Land & Timber. Jake is an avid outdoorsman and spends his free time hunting and fishing with his wife and family.
